Best Yoga Companies That Give Back

In yoga, there are certain philosophies called the Yamas and Niyamas that represent yogic ethics or guidelines on how to live a righteous life. These philosophies promote non-harming in thought, word, and deed.

Part of these philosophies is to give back to others, your community, and the world at large. Today, Yoga4Good goes over the best yoga mat companies that give back and what you should know about them.

Yoga Brands That Give Back

Zendara Yoga

We give back in two ways: through direct donations and yoga mat sales. We support our community and a local San Diego, CA organization called Center for Community Solutions (CCS). A portion of every yoga mat sale we make goes to CCS to help people whose lives have been impacted by sexual violence.

Additionally, we provide discounted as well as free private yoga sessions to anyone who could otherwise not afford it through our #giveback program. Get in touch with us online today to learn more.

JadeYoga

JadeYoga believes in giving back to the earth and its community through its Giving Programs. They do this in the following ways:

  • Buy a mat, plant a tree program

JadeYoga plants a tree for every mat sold. Through this program, the brand has planted over 1 million trees.

  • Color causes

The company also donates $5 from each mat of a specific color to a certain cause. These causes include ovarian cancer causes, breast cancer charities, and autism causes.

Wolven Threads

Wolven Threads creates beautiful sustainable yoga clothing that gives back. The company donates 5% of its proceeds to at-risk and incarcerated youth.

ReUnify Yoga

ReUnify Yoga is a locally owned San Diego, CA company based out of Ocean Beach with big-heart community vibes. The yoga studio offers various Seva Programs, including the following:

This membership allows members to donate $3 to their studio membership per month. These donations are collected each quarter and then donate to a non-profit. These non-profits include the San Diego Black LGBTQ Coalition, Border Angels, Groundswell Community Project, WATER4LIFE GLOBAL, and more.

  • Seva scholarship

The reUnify Yoga Seva Scholarship is community-funded tuition for a yoga teacher training program gifted to a community member who is experiencing financial stressors but would like to go through their yoga teacher training program.

This scholarship is to open all, but submissions from the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, person of color) community are prioritized.
